ARBITRATION & MEDIATION INFORMATION

Fee Schedule
Services are generally billed at $300 an hour, split among the parties. Multi-party cases may be billed at a higher rate, depending on the number of parties and case complexity.

  • Travel time: $150 an hour. There is no administration fee or charge for rescheduling.

  • Cancellation fee: $500, if a mediation or arbitration is canceled within seven days of scheduled date – fee waived if time slot filled with another mediation or arbitration.

  • Deposit: Based on time estimate (minimum $300 per party). Due upon scheduling.

Parties Should Attend
Generally speaking, it is critical for people with authority to personally participate in any mediation. If it is not possible for a key person to attend, counsel should agree on that before submitting mediation briefs.

Briefs
It saves time and money if an arbitrator or mediator receives briefs several days before the parties meet. Accordingly, they should be provided and exchanged at least three business days before the hearing or session. In mediations, parties may submit confidential briefs at their discretion.

Billing Rates and Terms
All law firms or lawyers who participate in the arbitration or mediation are responsible to insure that invoices are paid within 15 days. Advance fee deposits will be applied to any fees due, including cancellation fees. Deposit required may be adjusted if it appears from the briefs that the parties’ initial time projections are significantly underestimated.
